The River Nile reflects the independence, interdependence and diversity of countries that border and utilize the Life-Force River.
Mr. Ellis incorporates textiles to represent the countries in his signature textured style. In some parts of the piece the colors flow from one space to another while others have a clear ‘start and stop.’
Geographic and cultural borders are clear and present while at times ignored and almost invisible which represents the cultural duality that is experienced.
