“Habits” examines the relationships of women in Canada through religion, spirituality and the concept of the Trickster as an omnipresent character in the world of the feminine in our country - pulling us, pushing us from behind and settled amongst us. Always changing, our roles are sometimes seen as stereotypical, detached and given lip-service and classification, amidst the ever-present storm of the world around us. The canoe on the ocean holds us together in some form, but our status, thrown in the boat together, is always subject to tipping over in a precarious balance. The young woman, searching for answers ahead with her binoculars, the fire so close to her, burning the Nun, yet a clue to our future together, united in cause and peace.
